  Hey Conch Krewe Mates! 
  

  I am looking for fellow Krewe Members who would like to join me for a Paint Your Heart Out Tampa, Paint Day! PYHOT is a local charity that has painted over 100 homes for the elderly, disabled and Veterans, yearly! 
  
  I am hoping to put together a team of 15-25 volunteers who are willing to spend approximately 6-7 hours painting, on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The paint and most of the supplies will be provided.

  You can ask anyone who has participated in previous PYHOT events, and they will tell you just how much fun and rewarding it is to participate. It will also most likely lead to a great night’s sleep!

  This particular PYHOT event is extra special for me. My Dad, a Veteran - is the PYHOT Chairman and has been running the program for over 25 years! This past year my dad suffered a stroke and spent several months in the ICU after undergoing brain surgery. PYHOT has chosen my father’s home as their feature home to paint this year! This will be a big surprise for him as he HAS NO IDEA that any of this is happening or that he has been chosen as the recipient of this charitable event. Therefore, naturally I want to be the person to put together the perfect team to do his home. I have a lift and all the materials that will be needed. I just need a team of fantastic people to make it all happen. If you are interested in joining me please register! Conch On!

• DeSoto Heritage Festival Grand Parade

  The De Soto Grand Parade is getting a major overhaul in 2024, as the event has outgrown its traditional route thanks to an increasing number of entries, more spectators, and bigger floats. 

  The parade will now start in downtown Bradenton, where crowds will be able to watch floats stage before they stream down Manatee Avenue. Our goal is to bring a family-friendly downtown, “street party” hours before the parade steps off.  The festivities will include a 5K race, live music, street vendors and children’s activities, leading up to the parade’s 8:00PM start. 

  
  

  With over 150 entries, the De Soto Grand Parade is one of the largest and oldest parades in the Southeastern United States. Over 100,000 people line the streets of Bradenton to view the illuminated floats and catch a glimpse of our new Hernando de Soto, Captain of the Crewe and their newly crowned Queen and Princess. Beads, coins, and other fun items are handed to the crowd throughout the night.

• Hurricane Eddie's Dunedin Causeway Cleanup

  Join KotCR, Keep Pinellas Beautiful, Hurricane Eddie's, and Big Storm Brewing Co. and Great Bay Distributors for a cleanup at the Dunedin Causeway! There will be giveaway bags for the volunteers and the chance to win some great prizes. Stay for a drink and celebrate with us post-cleanup at Hurricane Eddie's Dunedin.   WHERE TO MEET: Meet at Hurricane Eddie's Dunedin for the cleanup

  TIME:

  • Cleanup - 10:00 AM to12:00 PM (Please arrive by 9:45 AM to sign in and collect your supplies)
  • After Party - 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

  WHAT TO WEAR: Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes, sun protection and weather appropriate clothing.

  WHAT TO EXPECT: Cleanup supplies will be provided. A water refill station will be available, please bring a refillable water bottle.

  PARKING: Parking is limited in the Hurricane Eddie's lot. Causeway and street parking is available nearby. Carpooling is highly encouraged!
